Beloved Star Pat Finn, a versatile actor, Famed For Parts in The Middle and Friends, Dies at 60 Years Old.
American actor Finn, who was seen in popular TV shows such as "Friends", "Seinfeld" and The Middle, has passed away at the age of 60.
The comedy and improvisation performer passed away at his residence in Los Angeles on Monday following treatment for cancer beginning in 2022, per media reports.
"He considered no one a stranger - just potential friends he hadn't encountered," his family shared in a announcement.
They continued that he had "experienced life to the fullest - with happiness and energy".
A Notable TV Career
His debut TV appearance was on the George Wendt Show in the mid-90s, where he portrayed the brother of the main character.
He also had a repeating character on Murphy Brown in the latter half of the 1990s.
He appeared as Joe Mayo in "Seinfeld" in the late 90s, playing a host known to delegate burdensome jobs to his guests.
During the late 1990s and early 2000s, he appeared as a guest star on a variety of well-known programs, like:
- King of Queens
- "Friends"
- That '70s Show
- "House"
Finn was perhaps best known for portraying the character Bill Norwood in "The Middle", featuring across eight seasons between 2011 and 2018.
His cinematic roles include It's Complicated (2009) and Santa Paws 2: The Santa Pups (2012).
Beyond the Screen
Outside of his television work, Finn was an improv performer and also taught at the University of Colorado, where he was a professor.
He was a member of a six-member improv team known as Beer Shark Mice.
"Pat coached, befriended and mentored numerous pupils throughout the years and you'd be hard-pressed to find anyone anyplace who has a bad thing to say about him," his loved ones expressed.
Paying homage, peer Richard Kind noted there was "nobody more kind, gentle, and humorous, authentic human being you could encounter".
"Always positive, assisting others to improve and be funnier. A great dad, a great guy," he shared publicly.
Pat Finn is remembered by his spouse Donna, three children, and his mother, father, and brothers/sisters.
