AFC Confusion

Turning to the American Football Conference, the playoff picture remains completely chaotic. Your four division leaders after ten games: the Colts, Patriots, Broncos (all standing at eight wins) along with Pittsburgh (5-4 record). Consider that carefully. Kansas City isn't there. Patriots Examination

The Patriots feel relatively comparable. Previously, they were considered jokes. Now, they’re the league’s happiest surprise and the strongest squad in football after seven straight wins. If not for fumbling away a manageable matchup facing Pittsburgh, they would currently hold nine wins, one loss as the league's best. Last season, they were old and slow. Now they’re inexperienced, speedy and bold. Still, it’s hard to ignore the weakness of New England's opponents. They've encountered the least challenging lineup throughout football, and flaws have still emerged. Drake Maye has been sacked thirty-five times – ranking second league-wide – and some of the shots he endured during the game appeared dangerous. Over time, those beatings accumulate.

Broncos Situation

The Broncos are eight wins similarly, yet it seems that they're barely surviving. Bo Nix has shown inconsistency, with the attack struggling, with the defense doing all the heavy lifting. Without serviceable quarterback play, the Broncos aren’t scaring any playoff team. The Chargers are also hovering within their division with seven wins, however, health issues within their blocking corps will create difficulties to achieve championship contention.

Pittsburgh Steelers

Meanwhile, Pittsburgh exists, inexplicably frontrunning the Northern division even after suffering a decisive loss to Los Angeles on Sunday night. They have a negative point differential, their defense too often disappears, with their quarterback's restrictions at this stage of his career persistently appear. They’re 5–4 and holding on, however, the Ravens, featuring a recovered Jackson with manageable games ahead, are riding a three-game streak. It shouldn’t be too much of a surprise that Baltimore has closed within a game of the Steelers, but how rapidly this occurred highlights deficiencies within Pittsburgh’s inconsistencies. The fact Baltimore began with a 1-5 record yet still appear they should win the division is telling about the conference as a whole.

Established Contenders

The Ravens' form part of the Big Three – joined by Buffalo and Kansas City – powered by their MVP quarterbacks, that would continue to generate the highest anxiety in opposing teams should they reach postseason. They’re the No One Wants To See ‘Em teams, yet Kansas City and Buffalo continue to self-destruct.

Bills Struggles

Last week, the Bills felt confident post Chiefs triumph. On Sunday they suffered among the season's worst defeats of the season. They didn't simply fail against Miami; they looked terrible, dropping a 30-13 road game. It was Miami’s first win against Buffalo in over three years.
