Iranian Forces State Attack on American Facility in Bahrain, Amid Widespread Counterattacks.
Iranian forces say they have struck a US naval base in Manama, as Iran launched strikes throughout the Middle East in retaliation for a "massive" and continuing offensive targeting the nation by the United States and Israeli forces.
Large columns of dark smoke were observed billowing from an zone near the command center of the American Fifth Fleet in Manama, Bahrain. The full scale of any damage is uncertain and the American officials has not commented.
Missile Defenses Activated
In other parts of the Middle East, the UAE, the State of Qatar and the State of Kuwait - each hosting American military installations - said they have shot down missiles in their airspace.
In the Qatari capital, the Qatari Ministry of Defence stated it had successfully engaged a number of projectiles apparently targeting the Al Udeid Air Base, the largest American base in the Middle East.
Operation "Truthful Promise 4"
Iran's Revolutionary Guard Corps (IRGC) said in a statement it was targeting US bases and assets as part of military campaign "Truthful Promise 4", in response for the attack on the Islamic Republic launched by the United States and its ally Israel on Saturday.
That US-Israeli operation - executed at approximately 09:15 Iran time - has so far targeted areas linked to the Tehran's leadership, with US President Donald Trump urging the people of Iran to rise up against the leadership.
Regional Fallout
In Israel, sirens were heard across the country after the Israel Defense Forces stated it had detected an barrage of missiles from Iran.
The Ministry of Defence of the UAE said in a statement that the country has been subjected to a "a blatant attack involving Iranian ballistic missiles".
"Emirati air defenses engaged the missiles with high efficiency and destroyed a series of missiles," the statement continued.
Officials reported missile fragments fell on a neighborhood in Abu Dhabi, causing some property damage and the death of one civilian.
The United States Air Force is stationed at the Al Dhafra base, south of the Emirati capital, along with the UAE Air Force.
